Help us get our N.V. Productions doors open!!
My name is "N.V.One" and I am trying to raise money to open & operate a local Vinyl Record and Compact Disc manufacturing company. I would like to offer local artists the chance to get their music manufactured at a lower rate compared to what they would spend with other companies locally or online.
I have been on the artist side of the music business for close to 20 years now. Believe me, I know from experience what it takes for someone such as myself to get music manufactured with a professional look.
Personally, if a kid hands me his demo or a his album and it looks like a burned CD-R with sharpie on the disc face, with his Facebook page for a contact, I probably wouldn’t give him a chance. I see it like this, if you can't put A+ effort into your presentation, then I don't believe that your music will sound any better. But that's the thing, what if that kid was the next new rising star? Then basically, I just looked over some serious potential and almost literally judged a book by its cover. Again, I know from experience how that whole process goes. Is it that kid's fault for not being able to afford to pay for things like; Cover Art, Replication/Duplication, Promotion or Manufacturing? No. Its the Music Industry/Manufacturing Companies who are at fault. That's exactly what I would like to change for the local Colorado Springs Recording Artist as well as changing it for the kid across the country who just wants to test the waters or jump right in!
I want to change all that, but I am lacking a few key essentials to really make this happen. I would need an up-to-date Vinyl Record Lathe, because the ones that I own are outdated and basically antiques. I have a specific model of record cutter that's been made available to me at a ridiculously low price... Even though that price will cost me about the same as a decent used car. Rest assured, I have the knowledge needed to operate all the equipment and at the moment, I am running 3 Large Quantity Duplicators, 4-Disc Publishers and a 42" Wide Format Printer, w/Top of the line Duplication & Printing Supplies. My problem is that, I do not have a Facility to operate all of this in and I do not have an up-to-date Record Cutter.
This Company will be a "One-Stop-Shop". Artists will
be able to come into our Studio and Record their own music and get it Manufactured, all in the same spot! We will also be offering other services such as, Poster Printing, Flyer Printing, Promotional Tools, Web Design and Graphic Design.
I will be starting this by myself with the possibility of taking on a few other people that have experience
in this business as well. I am the more serious about this than I have been about most things in my entire life. Now is the time for me to get moving on something real.
What does your monthly lease cost you?
Right now a decent sized office building or a small workshop will do just fine. I have my eye on a couple places, but I am looking at anywhere from $550-$800 a month with utilities already included. My shop will be located in either in Northern Colorado Springs, in the Briargate area or almost smack dab in the center of the city off of Palmer Park and Academy
I already have almost all the equipment and supplies needed to make this happen. As soon as I move into a workshop or a decent size office space, I begin taking orders immediately for the CD part of this venture! Due to some financial set backs, I had to sell off all 3 of my record cutters and do not have what I need to bring that aspect of my business to fruition. A portion of this money that I am trying to raise will go towards a new Vinyl Record Lathe that I have waiting for me as you read this.
How much does it cost to ship product?
The cost will be based on weight and dimensions of each order, on an order by order basis. In the beginning, I'm sure I will experience a couple examples of trial and error. But I will make sure those errors are never repeated.
What will you be charging for your services?
I am going to be taking orders anywhere from 100 - 1000 CD's in increments of 100 CD's.
100 CD's Full Color Print w/Music & Jewel Case + Insert & Tray Card w/Full Color Print =

I'll put it like this. To have a 7" vinyl record pressed or cut, will cost around $1000-$1400 for a 100 records! That's crazy to me, because you would never make your money back after paying out for that. Unless you own a press or a cutter and you're an artist as well, or you are signed to a record label. It's not beneficial at all to have records made otherwise. But the VINYL RECORD the main staple of the Hip Hop community. The DJ decides who gets play! If I can provide that service, at an efficient rate, Thank you for your time in reading this
I have never been signed to a record label that wasn't under my own trademark and have been manufacturing my own merchandise since the beginning. I know how to manufacture CD's very well and have years of experience doing so. I have top of the line equipment and top of the line supplies to ensure a quality that will far surpass any artist's expectations.
Help spread the word!,
